Abstract (EN)

Capitalist world-economy/modern world-system analysis was developed in the field of historical sociology in the 1970s with the claim of offering a new perspective on how to study a historical-social system. In this direction, the object of research is a large circle of states in the interstate system: the center, the semi-periphery and the periphery. By determining the rules of the game from these three types of states (in the fields of production, trade, finance); the state, which has power at the political, economic and military level and has a cultural language, is hegemonic. At this point, the effect of geocultural domination, which is the legitimating approach of the formation processes of the actors of the interstate system, on the formation of the Turkish State (Turkish Republic) will be analyzed. The foundations for the formation of the modern Turkish State lie in the long 18th century of the Ottoman Empire. In this respect, the Ottoman's participation in the modern world-system and its environmentalization process are worth analyzing. Thus, the formation of the modern Turkish State cannot be evaluated separately from the modern world-system.
