Abstract (EN)

With the emergence of capitalism, the concept of fashion has changed to a different dimension. The fashion industry has become a part of the capitalist exploitation order that has emerged as a result of the ambition of profit, which has the bulk of the means of production, such as raw materials and capital. The effects of the big companies of the fashion industry with the capitalism, the role of the consumer, the problems of the class, the effects of the economic crisis on the past and the current fashion market and the consumers were examined and it was questioned within the context of consumer buying fetishism. Capitalism, which has marked the last two centuries, has, of course, negative effects. The poor working conditions of the workers in the fashion industry were examined and examples of occupational accidents occurred in this sector. Body perception in the fashion industry, eating disorders of models, violation of women's rights, racist approaches and social, economic, physical and environmental negative effects that reveal the inner side of the sector have been tried to be put forward.
