Abstract (EN)

The study was conducted as a descriptive and cross sectional study for the purpose of determining the expectations of patients and patient relatives waiting for liver transplantations and the difficulties they experience. The study was implemented on 170 patients monitored at the Turkey High Specialization, Training, and Research Hospital Transplantation Polyclinic between December 29, 2011 and March 29, 2012 and 170 patient relatives. The data of the study was collected in face-to-face interviews through two questionnaires with the purpose of determining the expectations and experienced difficulties of patients and patient relatives. In the evaluation of the data, percentile calculation, mean, Chi Square, and Fisher Exact Test were utilized. According to data obtained in the study, it was determined that during the liver transplant wait process the greatest expectation of patients (70.0%) was ?undergoing a successful transplant operation? and the most important expectation of patient relatives was
