Abstract (EN)
The objective of this study is to find out the effect to commercial catch composition of cage aquaculture in Karakaya Dam Lake. The field studies were conducted in the 6th, 7th, 9th, and 10th Fishing Areas of Karakaya Dam Lake between April 2012 and December 2012. In the study, it was used monofilament gillnets with 80, 100, 120 and 140 mm mesh size, 0.50 hanging ratio, 100 m length and 50 mesh deep. In the 18 fishing operations performed, a total of 1094 fish with 11 different species was caught. Identification of fish species determined the morphometric features was made according to relevant literature. In consequence of evaluations, catch composition of Karakaya Dam Lake was confirmed as 34.2% Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum, 1792), 22.5% Capoeta trutta (Heckel, 1843), 11.6% Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus, 1758, 8.7% Capoeta umbla (Heckel, 1843), 7.2% Squalius cephalus (Linnaeus, 1758), 6.8% Chondrostoma regium (Heckel, 1843), 4.0% Carassius gibelio (Bloch, 1782), 2.5% Acanthobrama marmid Heckel, 1843, 1.3% Luciobarbus mystaceus (Pallas, 1814), 0.8% Aspius vorax Heckel, 1843, 0.3% Luciobarbus esocinus Heckel, 1843, and 0.2% Alburnus mossulensis Heckel, 1843. As a result, it was determined that rainbow trout composing population by escaping from cages in aquaculture enterprises has been came to more dominate than natural species.
