The effect of decision making styles on factors affecting the quality of decisions: Example of healthcare institutions

In corporate company management, the quality of decisions is important, especially in terms of future predictions. Regarding the criteria to be decided upon, policies regarding solution methods should be created after the problems are determined. Decision-making styles are also among the factors affecting the quality of decisions. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between decision-making styles and factors affecting the quality of decisions. The population of this research, planned in a quantitative research design, consists of employees working in organizations operating in the health sector in Iraq. In the research in which 288 people participated as a sample, the Decision-Making Styles Scale and the Factors Affecting the Quality of Decisions Scale were used as data collection tools. The data collected in the study was analysed through SPSS 22.00 and AMOS 24.00 package programs. In the research, confirmatory factor analysis, difference analysis with, correlation analysis was performed for the validity of the scales, and a structural equation model was established to determine the effect on the variables. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, it was concluded that the scales were valid scales and the data obtained from the research met the assumption of normality. Looking at the correlation analysis, it was determined that there were significant relationships between the scales and their sub-dimensions. According to the results of the structural equation model established, it was seen that decision-making styles had a positive and significant effect on the factors affecting the quality of decisions.
