Abstract (EN)

Oribatid mites extracted using appropriate methods from the soil samples collected from Karasu, Sakarya in 2013, between the months of February and August, were examined with light and electron microscopes. Main features of oribatid mites include mechanically disintegrating organic substances in the soil and using their digestive functions in order to chemically and physically alter those substances. Various parts of the identified species were photographed using the electron microscope and measured. Then they were compared with close species. With these studies, two discoveries were made of the Oppiidae familia and of the two, Lasiobelba (Antennoppia) quadriseta were recorded for the first time in Turkey. The Rhinoppia species recorded in this Rhinoppia (R.) arilloi study, with the bothridial costula found, resemble only the species of Rhinoppia (R.) parapectinata (Ryabinin, 1987), Rhinoppia (R.) artvinensis (Toluk y Ayyıldız, 2008) and Rhinoppia (R.) hygrophila (Mahunka, 1987), among the 36 species of Rhinoppia.
