Abstract (EN)
Road transportation is one of the most commonly used systems among transportation systems. Including bituminous hot mix pavement production in roadway design has led to a significant cost increase. In this context, road route selection, topographical features, and geological definitions have become crucial when designing roadways. In addition, the selection of structures, drainage elements, and infrastructure works to be established along the chosen route plays a significant role in terms of both economy and service life. In this thesis, alternatives have been proposed for crossing a dry stream located along the State Highway route between Bitlis and Siirt provinces, and a cost comparison has been made. For crossing the dry stream located between Km: 48+515-48+713 of the State Highway, the first alternative involves reinforced concrete box culverts, reinforced concrete retaining walls, and filling works, while the second alternative involves the construction of a simple beam reinforced concrete bridge. Necessary designs for the alternatives were made, and quantities and costs were calculated. Based on all the data obtained, the most suitable alternative was determined.
