Abstract (EN)

Carbon monoxide poisoning are serious health problems, and effect of reducing the blood?s oxygen carrying capacity. In this study, our objective was to investigate the relationship between carboxyhemoglobin, QT dispersion, and cardiac markers in patients with carbon monoxide poisoning.We were admitted to the emergency department patients with carbon monoxide poisoming and inclusion criteria. Patients? demographic data, cardiac marker results were recorded prepared form. 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs) were taken. Patients a week later called to control the arterial blood gas have been received and ECGs were taken.In prospective studies, 68.4% of total 79 patients were women. The mean age was 37,84±16,70/years. Average levels of patient?s carboxyhemoglobin was 21,28±9,309. Maximum and minimum QT-interval, QT dispersion and QT-corrected interval dispersion were significantly higher than the control group (p<0,001). Maximum QT interval and carboxyhemoglobin level between QT dispersion and QT-corrected interval dispersion was significantly positively correlated (p <0,05). In terms of cardiac marker, there was a positive correlation between brain natriüretik peptid and kreatinin kinaz, carboxyhemoglobin and myoglobin (p < 0.01).Increased QT dispersion in patients with carbon monoxide poisoning was seen. QT dispersion that can be used to determine the risk of ventricular arrhythmia is simple and non-invasive method. On this issue further controlled research with a wide series in the patient groups are thought to be beneficial.Key words: carbon monoxide poisoning QT dispersion, cardiac marker, emergency department
