Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, determination of some heavy metals uptake capacity of water hyacinth and water lettuce plants that exposed to landfill leachate was aimed. Elaziğ municipal solid waste landfill leachate was taken and placed inside the reactors in the laboratory and water hyacinth and water lettuce were added to these reactors. Samples were taken from plants at certain intervals. According to the results obtained, heavy metal concentrations in water hyacinth and water lettuce samples were followed the order of Fe>Zn>Cr>Cu>Pb>Cd. The uptake of heavy metals in water hyacinth was higher than the uptake amounts of water lettuce. As a result, it was determined that water hyacinth and water lettuce, which were exposed to the leachate of the Elaziğ municipal solid waste landfill, accumulated heavy metals Fe, Zn, Cr, Cu, Pb and Cd.
