Abstract (EN)
Conceptual art is where the first sparks of the relationship between object and memory were thrown and it is clear that art evolved to a different place after that period. Conceptual art continues its works through object, space, word and picture. Conceptual artists can take everyday objects or personal souvenirs and give them new meanings. By including the object in their work, the artist takes it from being an ordinary object and transforms it into a deeper, symbolic meaning. The use of memory in art, on the other hand, refers to a representation based on the idea and meaning that the object carries rather than its physical existence by establishing a connection between the past and the present. Especially in conceptual art, the object itself is not emphasized, but its artistic context or ideological aspect. In human memory, memories are depicted through objects in every field. The events we have experienced in the past have an important place as objects representing emotions or individual/historical experiences. Such objects are valuable not only with their physical existence but also with the layers of memories and meanings they carry. In conceptual art, souvenir objects are a powerful tool that encourages the viewer to think, question the past and establish a relationship with their own experiences. In conceptual art, the commemorative object has become a powerful symbol that carries great meaning in both individual and social contexts and also establishes a connection with the past.
