Shale gas production techniques,transport and costs investigatio

In the world of a decreasing conventional energy resources and hence high energy prices, the unconventional gas resources has become a new focus of interest of the oil and gas sector. Especially, after the shale gas'become important, both the industry and the economies are trying to explore and exploit their potential resources. Shale gas refers to natural gas that is trapped within shale formations. Shales are fine-grained sedimentary rocks that can be rich resources of petroleum and natural gas. Sedimentary rocks are rocks formed by the accumulation of sediments at the Earth's surface and within bodies of water. Common sedimentary rocks include sandstone, limestone, and shale Also, Turkey is one of the important countries that are known to have important shale gas resources at subsurface. Up to date, Southeastern Anatolian zone is regarded as the most promising one among the country. Although, the exact amount and reservoir charactersictics are not determined due to the lack of sufficient data, the exploration activities are continuing to get tangible information. In the World, it is estimated that 500 trillion m³ shale gas reserve exist. In this study, it is targeted to research the structure of shale gas,shale gas's recent position in Turkey, production methods, environmental anxieties and environmental solutions.
