Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of anaerobic and aerobic tests applied to alpine skiers in field and laboratory conditions on performance. A total of 13 male and 12 female licensed skiers, aged between 14 and 16, living in Isparta province participated in the study. Anaerobic performance of the skiers was determined using the Wingate Anaerobic Power Test (WANT), the Running-Based Sprint Test (RAST), and aerobic performance was determined using the Astrand augmented treadmill test and the 20-m shuttle run. SPSS 29 statistical analysis program was used to evaluate the findings of the study. A within-group paired t-test was used to evaluate the aerobic and anaerobic performance levels of the skiers in field and laboratory environments. The level of significance was assessed at 0.05. In the within-group analysis of the findings, statistically significant differences were found in the maximum and average power values obtained from the WAnT and RAST tests for both male and female skiers (p<0.05), but no significant difference was observed in the minimum power values (p>0.05). A significant difference was found between the VO₂max values obtained from the Astrand Treadmill Test and the 20-meter shuttle run for both male and female athletes (p<0.05). Consequently, the results obtained from the tests conducted under laboratory conditions were observed to be better than the scores obtained from the tests conducted in the field environment. We believe this is due to the influence of environmental factors in the field conditions on the skiers.
