Abstract (EN)

In this study, the significance of the residual stresses which were occured during in the welding process has been tried to be shown and contributing to the measurement of the residual stresses by means of a particular method has been purposed. The theoretical informatiopns about the reasons of the residual stresses and its effects, typical residual stresses and the measurement techniques were given in the first part of this work. The second part of the work is constituted of experimental studies. Experiments have been made by using different welding methods under the different welding coonditiens and the formation of the dimensions of residual stresses, its directions and types have been found by the application of optical/mechanical measurements. On the other hand, a computer has been programmed in order to calculate the values of measurements accurately.
