Abstract (EN)
The goal of the study is to determine the views of the teachers about the adaptations used in inclusive classrooms. Qualitative research techniques have been used in this study. The scope of the study consists of primary school teachers in Erzurum and sampling includes 18 teachers who have been working in inclusive classrooms in 8 of the primary schools. 11 questions were prepared in order to determine the teachers? applications about the adaptation of the instructions. The data was gathered by the help of semi-constructivist interview technique. The data was analyzed according to content method.As a result of the analysis, inclusive classroom teachers have stated that they had used some adaptations in the sense of designing the learning environment and teaching goals. However, it was seen that inclusive classroom teachers only make desk situation designs about learning environment and they weren?t make plans about the goals.According to the gathered information, it can be stated that teachers have focused on question-answer, drama and demonstration. Their adaptations were generally about activity and question- answer process.Most of the inclusive classroom teachers haven?t used any adaptations within the framework of material.Although they stated that they had used some adaptation techniques during the preparation and presentation of the process, they tried to use some adaptation techniques at the time of practice.Inclusive classroom teachers used observation techniques, oral and test examination. It was observed that they used adaptation techniques with the oral examination and performance tasks.Their complaints about the adaptation of the instruction were about having limited time, insufficient information, and crowded classrooms and lacking of support.In the light of the data, it is seen that inclusive classroom teachers haven?t been supported by their directors, directorate of education, central of research guidance and parents.Teachers have stated the necessarily of in-service training for classroom teachers. Furthermore, they wanted to be encouraged and trained about the subject. They also, suggested that parents be trained and school directors and inspectors have information about the subject. According to their views, university students should be informed about inclusive classrooms and all of the schools should have a guide teacher.At the end of the study, it is concluded that, inclusive classroom teachers do not have sufficient information about instructional adaptation, some of their adaptations are limited and they haven?t got instructional adaptation plan.Key Words: Adaptation, inclusive classroom, inclusive classroom teacher
