Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of agricultural activities is to meet the nutritional needs of people to survive. With population growth, urbanization and globalization, there has been an increase in the market share of agricultural products. Additionally, businesses aiming to make profits have been established in sectors related to agricultural activities. Like every business, companies operating in the agricultural sector need a common accounting language in order to present their financial situation to the information of those concerned in a real and reliable way and to ensure that their operating results are reported accurately, up-to-date and reliable. This need of businesses has led to the formation of international accounting standards. In this study, it is aimed to examine the financial events occurring in businesses operating on perennial plants and the biological transformation processes of plants within the framework of Turkish Accounting Standards. In the study, accounting records were kept in accordance with the standards by using the Draft Chart of Accounts in Compliance with Financial Reporting Standards published by the Public Oversight Authority. Thus, it is aimed to reflect the financial situation of an agricultural enterprise in reports in a realistic manner. For this purpose, an application was made using the data regarding the apricot garden establishment period, production period and post- production period of an agricultural enterprise that grows apricots in Battalgazi district of Malatya province. As a result of the study, it was seen that the transactions made within the Framework of Accounting Standards, which take into account the biological characteristics of the asset in accordance with the field in which the agricultural enterprise operates, have a more accurate, realistic and dynamic structure that can meet the needs. It is thought that the study will contribute to agricultural enterprises with a similar structure in terms of their field of activity for their transactions within the framework of Accounting Standards.
