Abstract (EN)

The thesis deals with the Köseoğlu Residence, which is one of the traditional civil architecture examples in Germir district of Kayseri. The aim of the study is to document the present condition preparing the measured drawings, to determine the original condition and detect the alterations occurred by means of the restitution project, accomplishment of building to the future generations by analysing the existing condition and the restoration possibilities. In the scope of the thesis, the urban sites of Kayseri, the surroundings of the Köseoğlu Residence and its present condition are analyzed and with the help of the comparative studies and historical analyses, the original condition of the residence is examined. Then, in accordance with the restoration project, the residence is to be restorated and the necessary conditions are to be provided in a modern way. For a continuous protection, while evaluating results and taking the peculiarities of the region in the consideration, the proper function for the building is determined and as a result, a restoration project is proposed.Keywords : Enviromental, conservation, development, Traditional house
