The effect of the micro-teaching method based applications to the student performance and attitude in the violin education

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to determine effect of the micro-teaching method based applications performed in the violin education on the performance of the students newly started to play violin and attitudes toward the violin lesson. The static group comparison design has used in the research. The study group of the research consists of violin students of Diyarbakır Fine Arts High School Music Department 9th Grade, Autumn Term, academic year 2015-2016 (n=16). In the study, the 'Violin Lesson Performance Evaluation Form' and 'Scale of Attitude toward the Violin Lesson' has been used as data gathering tool. The students which create the study group have been separated to the experimental and control groups by draw. The researcher has applied the micro-teaching method based violin education to the experimental group (n=8) and the classic method based violin education to the control group (n=8) during ten weeks and two lesson hour per week. The data obtained in the study has been analyzed by using the program, SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 22.0. In line with the obtained data; the results are as follows: • Especially after 5th weeks, there is significant differences among priority skill points for the achievement in the micro-teaching method based applications performed in 10 weeks with experimental group, • There is no significant difference among post test tempo and sight-reading skill points of the control group students whom the classic method based applications have performed and experimental group students whom the micro-teaching group methods based applications have performed in the violin education, however there is significant difference in favor of experimental group in terms of posture and hold, right hand/ left hand technique, musicality and total skill points, • There is no significant difference among the attitude points for the violin lesson of the control group students whom the classic method based applications have performed and experimental group students whom the micro-teaching method based applications have performed in the violin education.
