Abstract (EN)
Today, along with many diseases, bone tumor is a type of cancer that causes difficulties in young and childhood periods. Bone cancer can start in any bone in the body, but is most common in the long bones in the pelvis, arms and legs. More than 200 cases of bone tumor (osteosarcoma) are seen annually in our country. Bone tumor is one of the diseases that are desired to be overcome with new agents (chemotherapy). NOE (N-oleoylethanolamine) is a very strong acid ceramidase (AC) inhibitor used in many cancer treatments. Ceramidases affect the proliferation and growth of cancer cells. Inhibition of acid ceramidase activity sensitizes tumor cells to antitumor agents and radiation effects. With the suppression of acid ceramidase, ceramide accumulation in the cell shows that the apoptosis mechanism works healthier. In this study, the potential cytotoxic, proapopotic, antiproliferative effects of NOE (N-oleoylethanolamine) for the treatment of bone cancer and the morphological and subtle structural changes it may cause were investigated on human bone cancer, osteosarcoma cell line (Saos-2).
