Abstract (EN)

The increase of population in cities and the formation of different attraction centers cause the increase of the journey in the city. The increase in population and the improvement in the socio-economic situation lead to an increase in private vehicle ownership. This situation causes the traffic intensity to increase and the existing roads to be insufficient over time. In order to solve this problem, besides the development of transportation infrastructure, travel demand management policies will be effective. Therefore, it is very important to manage intersecting currents by signaling intersections to improve road network performance. Before the crossroads design, it is necessary to carry out extensive research in the area where the junction is located. It should be noted that in the study, not only the roads connected to the junction, but also the area where the junction is located should be examined. It is necessary to survey the urban fabric, the types of roads on which the junction is located, and the relationship between attraction centers and junctions. In addition, the number and type of vehicles that use junctions, the horizontal and vertical markings used by the pedestrians, and the signal timing must be examined. Analyzing the accidents at the intersection helps to understand the problems at the intersection. In addition, the intersection design should be made suitable for the use of public transport vehicles. Prior to the implementation of the produced solution, it is necessary to carry out a simulation study to examine the current situation, identify the problems and see if the solutions produced are useful. In this way, the problems will be determined more accurately and clearly, then the deficiencies and mistakes in the proposed solutions can be determined before they are put into practice.
