Abstract (EN)
Because of the fast integral migration that has been aroused after industrialization, unplanned urbanization and depression areas have been occurred in cities. Transformation and retrieval of depression areas is possible with urban transformation. In this study, urban transformation has been defined and its social and juridical aspects have been examined as well. Field work has been done within the examination by establishing communication with people living in the transformation areas and local municipalities which performed the transformation. In this study, especially "The Act on the Transformation of Areas under Disaster Risk numbered 6306" has been examined and it has been focused on the deficiencies of the act as well. It has been aimed for the practitioners of urban transformation to benefit from this study. Keywords: Old Buildings, Urban Transformation, Social and Legal Aspect
