Abstract (EN)
To ensure that humans can feel comfortable in their habitat, ambient conditions are required to meet certain temperature, wind and humidity ranges. Provided that ranges for comfort zone and values are favorable for humans, the result is termed as "bioclimatic comfort" or "biocomfort" briefly. If bioclimatic comfort is not in a favorable range of value, humans feel uncomfortable in these zones and want to get away from such places. Biocomfort is among the most salient factors that can affect human beings' comfort, performance, psychology and even their health under some circumstances. Hence while choosing the habitats and while planning new settlements in particular, biocomfort level of humans must always be taken into account to meet a number of requirements. The aim of this study is to determine favorable and unfavorable settlements to meet optimal biocomfort levels across the entire Çankırı city. Within the context of this study biocomfort zones of Çankırı city were selected and general topographic, slope, land and geological structure of the city were mapped. At the end of this study it was identified that in Çankırı City, comfort zones were intensely lined as a block in the northwest, southeast and southwest regions of Çankırı but in the remaining regions comfort and comfortless zones were mostly interpolated.
