Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to repair shear deficient and damaged reinforced concrete beams with the application of U shaped CFRP straps. In this study, totally seven beams one of which reference specimen were tested. The six beams shear damaged firstly and then, three of them were repaired with only CFRP straps. The remaining three specimens were repaired with the end anchoraged CFRP straps. Three different spacing between the U sahpe CFRP straps are used such as 125 mm, 150 mm and 200 mm. The behaviors of the specimens were investigated according to CFRP strap spacing, and whether end anchorages were applied or not. According to results of the experiments, the effectiveness of the rehabilitation method on the strength, stiffness and ductility of the specimen were evaluated. The results of experiment indicate that end anchored CFRP straps have an effect on the behavior of reinforced concrete beams. Anchored CFRP straps enable the development of ductile flexural behavior in beams with shear deficiencies.
