Abstract (EN)

After this opration austempering is conducted by the time of 60 minutes for twodifferent temperatures 250ºC and 325ºC. CBN and Cemented Carbide cutting toolmaterials were used machinability tests. Each of tools machinabilities have beeninvestigated and determined optimum cutting conditions for DI and ADImaterials. Cutting forces on tools and surface roughness values of machinedsurface of workpieces are measured determined by cutting conditions. Also toolwear tests were carried out for DI and ADI materials. So a tool life is obtained foreach tool and workpiece. Experimental findings showed that cutting forces arehigher for materials subjected to austempering at low temperature. However, surface raughness valus are better at low austempering temperatures. Also tools were rapidly weared at cutting of austempered specimen with lowitemperature. The other result of this study is understood that CBN cutting toolsare more sutitable for machining nat only DI but also ADI materials.2006, 88 pagesKey Words : Flank wear, Austempered ductile iron, CBN cutting tools,Cemented Carbide cutting tools, Machinabilityii
