Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effect of kinetic brain exercises on the quality of life and functional properties of elderly individuals. The mean age of the study was 54.30±2.11(years), the mean weight was 79.4±9.99(kg), the mean height was 168±7.12(cm) with the experimental group of 10 people, with the mean age 53.37±2.82(years), mean weight 84.62±19.05( kg) form the control group of 8 people with an average height of 167.62±10.60(cm). Individuals in the experimental group were given 30-minute kinetic brain exercises 3 days a week for 12 weeks. No exercise was performed in the control group. The data were obtained by performing the pre-test before the start of both groups, and the post-test after the study was completed. In order to test the effectiveness of the study, balance balance test with alpha stabilomertic platform, d2 attention test, timed get up and go test, WHOQOL-OLD (World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale Elderly Module), fall activity scale, geriatric depression scale were used. SPSS 20.0 program was used for data analysis. As a result of the study, positive progress was observed in the balance test (p<0.05). A positive improvement was observed in the measurement of attention in the experimental group (p<0.05). A positive improvement in depression and quality of life was observed in the experimental group (p<0.05). As a result, 12-week kinetic brain exercises can have a positive effect on attention, balance and quality of life in elderly individuals who exercise.
