Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the Collage technique on students' painting skills. Experimental design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. In the thesis study; Two groups were selected from two classes consisting of 7th grade students, one as an experimental group and the other as a control group. Then, as a preliminary study for these two groups; A painting of the same fiction was made under the same conditions, with the same materials and paints. These preliminary studies were scored by teachers who are experts in their fields. In the next stage of the study, the experimental group; The learning method based on the collage technique was applied, and the control group was applied the traditional teaching method. In artistic practice, the experimental group produced works with the collage technique, while the control group produced works with the method in the current plan. In the final work phase; Both groups were again asked to paint the fiction created in the preliminary study, using the same conditions and paints. These studies were re-scored by expert teachers. According to the results of expert ratings of these studies conducted with experimental and control groups; The effect of the collage technique on students' painting skills was observed and qualitative evaluations were made. The results of this research revealed that the collage technique should have an important place in visual arts education. While the collage technique improves students' manual skills, it reduces artistic anxiety and enables them to act more freely and comfortably in creative processes. It has been observed that especially 7th grade students can generate more ideas thanks to this technique and their capacity to realize their dream work has increased. Studies have shown that the painting skills of the experimental group to which the collage technique was applied increased significantly and that this group produced more detailed and creative works. Artistic practices made with the collage technique also contributed positively to the social development of students by improving their empathy skills and ways of expressing themselves. In this context, it was concluded that including the collage technique in educational programs would be beneficial in terms of developing both artistic and social skills of students. When the thesis study is evaluated in terms of its contribution to the literature; Compared to previous studies on the subject, it is thought that it is a study that finds common ground in terms of its contribution to art education and the pedagogical development of the student, apart from some methodological differences in the content and application phase.
