Abstract (EN)

In this master study, brake pads manufactured from composite materials were investigated at overall and the matrix materials, reinforcement materials, the other ingredient materials of the present composite brake linings with the effects of those materials on the wear behaviour, braking performance, friction coeficient and thermal strength were entirely taken into account. Accordingly, besides the braking systems with their types were investigated, braking pressure, standartized disc and pad dimensions were also figured out in the studies of literature part. Organic based powders are used for the manufacturing of brake linings with their usability as a brake lining material and investigation of their braking performances. As a result of the performed experiments, shell and bone powders are decided to be suitable for the semi organic brake linings. On the other hand, it is concluded that the horn and nail powders are not met the required brake lining charachteristics.
