Abstract (EN)

Credit cards are a payment method that can ensure any sort of getting goods or services without carrying cash. It is a short term credit that's provided by the institutions to its customers. Such as cash, it provides a certain amount of purchasing power and affects the individual's expenditures in daily. The purchasing power that is created by credit cards can also affect a lot of variables in the economy. In the case of instant feeling of buying easily, usage of self-satisfaction to buy anything, the consequences might be a compulsive purchasing that is not rational consumption decisions for individuals. This study includes four chapters. The first chapter contains the history of credit cards, types of credit cards, usage goals, legal characters, the changes of usage through the internet. The second chapter includes what is its place in society, electrical payment methods, electrical trade market and analyzing it from a comprehensive perspective. In the third chapter, analysis of personality structure, compulsive purchases, the attitudes directed to credit cards and giving a feedback about the habits of using credit cards for measuring individual's purchases. The attitude for the credit cards and the effects on compulsive purchasing are analyzed by survey method at the fourth chapter of the study.
