The study of the condominiums in view of multiple floored residence complexes

The concept of Condominiums was studied in view of multiple floored residence complexes which was handled as the housing of the modern era; was being a solution for the problems that exists in adaptation to city life for meeting globalizing world?s standards. The residence type that functions of city life is added to structure program; was differentiating from the starting usage plan and begins to satisfy the needs of the higher society for permanent living styles. Structure units that are the symbols of popular life style in city and suburbs, can be turn into the city residences by creating free living places in itself. In this thesis, the house type that was studied in view of city and residences; was being handled and studied through the concepts that was building itself and in the phase of understanding the applicability in Turkey, the capability of satisfying the needs of life style is being evaluated. This thesis consists of seven chapters.. In first chapter of this study, problem was identified, purpose of the research was explained, ways of study were determined and limitations were decided. In second chapter, city and residence concepts that should be taken into consideration in the planning phase of condominiums were studied and historical development which caused condominiums existence has been explained in the scale of city and residence. In the third chapter, definition and usage of the concept of condominiums in present days and basic elements of this structure type were explained. In fourth chapter, in view of the condominiums, city and residence concepts in Turkey and readiness for this type of structure were studied. In fifth chapter, results of the poll that has been taken in İzmir and user?s needs were explained. In sixth chapter, some models from Turkey and other countries were examined, in the point of forming condominium structure, an evaluation was done by studying positive and negative datas. In the last chapter, seventh chapter, by determining the basic criterions that should be taken into consideration in scale of city and residence concepts in the planning phase of condominiums, a new ?point of view? tried to be given to the Architects in the imagining phase of the future residences.
