Abstract (EN)
Comparison of the Efficiency of Ozonated Oil and PRP in the Treatment of Gingivitis in Dogs This study was performed to compare the efficiency of ozonated olive oil (pure ozonoid) and PRP use in dogs diagnosed with gingivitis. Forteen dogs diagnosed as 2nd and 3rd grade gingivitis who had no periodontal destruction brought to Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Veterinary Faculty Animal Hospital Surgical Clinic were included in the study. On the first day, detartraj was applied to all cases with isotonic saline in right and left half. Pure ozonoid was applied to the right half and PRP was applied to the left half after detartraj. The applied treatment was repeated on the 3rd and 7th days. In all dogs, clinical examination findings obtained on the right and left half of the 14th day were compared clinically and statistically. On the 0, 3, 7 and 14. days in the right half of pure ozonoid and in the left half of PRP, statistically significant regression was observed in both GI and BI, and even in the right half of pure ozonoid, the clinical findings of gingivitis were completely improved. In addition, a high positive correlation was found between the two indexes as a result of evaluating the linear relationship between GI and BI scores in dogs. As a result; it is concluded that pure ozonoid provides a more effective recovery in cases of gingivitis compared to PRP and can be used as an alternative to PRP in terms of being cost-effectiveness.
