Abstract (EN)
The horror and exploitation cinema, which has received attention and has been studied in academic circles only recently, presents a rich content with its own subcategories. In this study, following a descriptive information about horror and the horror cinema, it has been given information about exploitation cinema, an often product of horror type. Although horror and exploitation movies that are increasing in recent years consist of bloody violence as a response to viewers? interest, some of these movies can problematize the violence and provide different/dissimilar readings. In order to put forth our main arguments for consideration, Wes Craven?s movie, The Last House On the Left (1972) and Quentin Tarantino?s movie, Death Proof (2007) have been studied using Levi-Strauss?s method of binary opposition.
