Abstract (EN)

Aim: This research was conducted to determine the relationship between the immobilization period applied to patients who underwent coronary angiography, environmental stressors, and the anxiety levels of the patients after the procedure. Material and Method: The descriptive and correlation-type study sample consisted of 255 coronary angiography patients who met the inclusion criteria and agreed to participate in the research, staying in the cardiology service and coronary intensive care unit of Ordu University Training and Research Hospital. The study data was collected between July 2022 and July 2023 using the 'Personal Information Form', 'State-Trait Anxiety Scale', and 'Intensive Care Environmental Stressors Scale'. The data were analyzed in the SPSS v26 Program and evaluated within the p˂0.05 confidence interval. Results: The average age of the patients participating in the study was 59.19±11.82 years, and the duration of lying motionless in the supine position was 6.25±1.79 hours. The mean score of the patients on the Intensive Care Unit Environmental Stressors Scale was 123.71±21.71, the mean score on the State Anxiety Scale was 53.70±8.86, and the mean score on the Trait Anxiety Scale was 47.22±6.10. It was determined that there was no statistically significant relationship between the immobilization time of coronary artery patients and environmental stress, state, and trait anxiety levels and that there was a weak positive statistically significant relationship between environmental stress levels and state and trait anxiety levels. Conclusion: In the study, it was determined that the environmental stress levels of individuals who underwent coronary angiography were above average, their state and trait anxiety levels were at medium levels, and ecological stress affected their state and trait anxiety levels.
