Disaster preparedness perception of personnel working in pre-hospital emergency health services in Kırklarelı province

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to determine the perception of disaster preparedness of pre-hospital emergency health services personnel in Kırklareli province. For this purpose, the research population consists of health personnel working in emergency health services at pre-hospital health institutions in Kırklareli province. The research data were obtained from face-to-face surveys conducted with 160 health workers selected from this population. Five people refused to participate in the research and the research was conducted with 155 people. The research was conducted with a relational screening design. The data obtained in the research were subjected to T-test, ANOVA and correlation analyses. According to the research findings, 63.9% (n=99) of the 155 participants had received disaster training, while 36.1% (n=56) participants had not received disaster training. According to the t-test results, the mean score of women in the Desire sub-dimension (12.299) was significantly higher than the mean score of men (10.148) (t=3.630, p<0.01). In addition, in the Self-efficacy sub-dimension, women's self-efficacy scores (29.806) are significantly higher than men's scores (26.011) (t=2.791, p<0.01). According to the correlation analysis results, there are statistically significant and positive relationships between all sub-dimensions. A moderate relationship was found between the Desire dimension and the Importance dimension (r = 0.539). A high level of correlation was found between the Desire dimension and the Self-Efficacy dimension (r = 0.706).
