Abstract (EN)

In this study, accumulation of chromium and lead in Spirulina sp. and the effects of chromium and lead on growth rate, pigment and amount of sugar of Spirulina sp. were investigated over seven days period at different concentrations. The analysis of chromium and lead accumulation were determined at 1, 3, 5 and 7 days, growth rate was determined each day, the analysis of pigment and sugar were determined at 7 days. Amount of the chromium and lead in Spirulina sp. has increased depending on time course and concentration for all treatments in the experiment. Under the chromium and lead effect, the growth rate, chlorophyll a, carotenoid and sugar amount in Spirulina sp. have decreased. The toxic effects were observed at medium including high concentrations of chromium and lead (10 and 20 mg/L) rather than at medium including low concentrations (1 and 5 mg/L). It was determined that chromium and lead effects on physiological and biochemical of Spirulina sp. were directly related with chromium and lead accumulation by the algae and inhibition in this parameters increased with increasing of chromium and lead accumulation in the algae. It was determined that Spirulina sp. was rather sensitive to chromium and lead and it can be used as allowable to assess the effects chromium and lead toxic in medium.Key words: chromium, lead, Spirulina sp., physiological effect
