Abstract (EN)
Introduction and AimIn our study, we aimed to compare viral supression rates of entecavir and tenofovir in chronic hepatitis B patients retrospectively.Material and Methods32 chronic hepatitis B patients using entecavir and 31 chronic hepatitis B patients using tenofovir are participated in our study. We evaluated age, gender, HBeAg positivity and lamivudine resistance. We compared beginning, 1st month, 3rd month and, 6th month HBV DNA levels of the patients.FindingsWe found that entecavir and tenofovir are making similar rates of viral suppression. There was no statistically important difference between both agents. We showed that viral suppression was in large amount in the first month. Although there was a limited patient population, we found that tenofovir was making early and superior viral suppression in lamivudine resistant and both lamivudine resistant HBeAg positive chronic hepatitis B patients.ConclusionWe understood that both entecavir and tenofovir was making similar viral suppression. We need larger population of lamivudine resistant and both lamivudine resistant HBeAg positive patients, to compare the viral suppression rates of entecavir and tenofovir.
