Local pattern analysis and architectural heritage of rural areas: Nevşehir Derinkuyu Suvermez village

In this study, studies on traditional residential architecture and plan typology specific to rural architecture understanding, local building materials and construction techniques that form its foundations were investigated. For the field study, it is a historically high quality project, which is located within the borders of Nevşehir province, the heart of the Cappadocia region, whose underground and aboveground cultural heritage values are frequently mentioned, and where my ancestors also lived, with very few researches and studies. It was built in Suvermez Village of Derinkuyu district. Primary reason for choosing the study area; It is the existence of a local texture in a unique typology that emerges as a result of the tolerant interactions of societies with different religions and cultures and the region's precious traces of my upper generations. The aim of the study is to ensure that rural areas are protected and kept alive as a whole with the environment they are in, in line with today's conservation approach, and to raise awareness in terms of taking concrete steps. This scope of work; By determining the natural and cultural heritages of Suvermez Village, the local features of the buildings, the material quality and the current plan typology were determined, textural analyzes were made and the current status of the buildings was documented. Due to the fact that the study area has not been previously examined at the village scale, in the present historical texture analysis, high on - site observations have been used. In addition, monuments and civil architectural cultural assets, island parcel information determined and registered by Nevşehir Cultural Heritage Preservation Regional Board were determined, measurement and photographing studies, facade and plan typologies were taken, interviews were held with the building owners and this information was supported by photographs.
