Integrated solid waste management in small settlement units: Case study of Bursa province, Yenişehir district, Yolören neighborhood

In this study, the applicabilityof integrated solid waste management in small settlements is evaluated. For this purpose, the study has been completed in five sections. The first section is the introduction. In the second section, the conceptual and theoretical framework is given. Here, the concept and classification of solid waste, the need for integrated solid waste management, the benefits, features and steps of integrated solid waste management are discussed. The third section is the methodology of the study. Here, information is given about the study area firstly. Then the steps to be followed in the study are explained. The fourth section is designated for the presentation and discussion of the findings. Here, primarily the solid waste management is presented which exists in the Yolören Neighborhood of Yenişehir District of Bursa Province, the study area. Then, the population and solid waste projection studies are conducted for integrated solid waste management. In line with the projection obtained, integrated solid waste management steps are formed. The fifth section is the conclusion where a general evaluation of the practices performed in the study is presented.
