Abstract (EN)

Due to the lack of written documents regarding the origin of puppetry leads to different opinions on the subject. One of these opinions alleges that Shamanism was used as a system by the human kind to perceive, understand and make meaning of the universe. Shamanism as a practice is dated long before the emergence of other belief systems, and due to this reason, we can hypothesize that other belief systems diversified from it. Understanding the myths under Shamanism focus, just like the other belief systems; is vital to be able to form an opinion about the way of life and practiced customs of the era. Researching the myths is one of the first steps to analyze the ideas behind belief systems. According to the research on the myths, investigating narratives from different land and cultures can lead us to the similarities in the covered themes. These similarities show us that humanity leans towards similar preoccupation and analysis. This research uses the mythology of Shamanism as the source in order to design ceramic puppets. Keywords: Puppet, Shamanism, Mythology, Ceramic Puppet
