Abstract (EN)

Güdül district of Ankara province has an important place in terms of tourism with its historical past, traditional architecture, rural landscape, natural beauties, local flavors and agriculture. For this reason, Güdül District, which is approximately 90 km away from Ankara, has been declared a Cittaslow (Slow City) because it is a geography with many potentials in terms of its uncrowded population, not being affected by today's urbanization, preserving the local authenticity of the buildings and being intertwined with nature. This research deals with the process of revitalizing the cultural and environmental values of Güdül district and is examined as an example of a Cittaslow (Slow City). The research analyzes Güdül's historical and cultural heritage, natural resources and environmental characteristics. It also researches and documents efforts to revitalize the district's cultural and environmental values. Güdül is evaluated in terms of sustainability and livability in line with Cittaslow (Slow City) principles. The criteria that Güdül meets during the Cittaslow (Slow City) membership application process are evaluated and the criteria are examined. Additionally, the values Güdül acquired through Cittaslow (Slow City) membership and suggestions for its development are presented. The research examines important steps aimed at documenting and revitalizing Güdül's cultural landscape and environmental values. Finally, suggestions are being developed for the revitalization of Güdül's cultural, architectural, environmental and touristic values.
