Abstract (EN)

The subject of this study is the examination of nouns in Kumyk Turkish in terms of their structure, inflection, and semantic meaning. The aim of the study is to analyze and classify the nouns in Kumyk Turkish, and to examine them comparatively with Old Turkish and Turkish. The study consists of four main sections: Introduction, Kumyk Turks and Kumyk Turkish, Analysis and conclusion. The Introduction section addresses the purpose, importance, scope, and methodology of the study. The Kumyk Turks and Kumyk Turkish section explores the history, cultural structure, and linguistic features of the Kumyk Turks. The Analysis section examines the structure of nouns in Kumyk Turkish (simple, derived, and compound nouns), noun inflectional affixes (plural, possessive, case, and question markers), and their semantic classifications (proper, common, collective, concrete, and abstract nouns). In the study, Kumyk Turkish texts were reviewed, and nouns were extracted using the carding method. These nouns were then classified based on their meaning and function. Furthermore, both synchronic and diachronic linguistic methods were employed to reveal the structural and semantic properties of the nouns. The data obtained were analyzed and compared with their counterparts in Kumyk Turkish, Old Turkish, and Modern Turkish. The study utilized thirteen different Kumyk texts, and sentences containing simple, derived, compound, proper, common, collective, concrete, and abstract nouns were translated into Modern Turkish. In addition, the noun formation and inflectional affixes associated with these nouns were examined in detail. In conclusion part, important points are mentioned about the matter of noun in Kumuk Turkish.
