Political economy of Islamic republic of Iran during globalization

The phenomenon of globalization has been widely discussed in recent years. In the process of globalization, the unexpected Islamic revolution in Iran caused USA's embargo. The purpose of this research is to answer the question: "How has the imposition of embargo which contradicts globalization process affected Iran's foreign trade?" The embargo controlled by USA affects Iran's foreign trade and causes the change of its direction. In order to give a clear answer to this question the first part of the research will define the term globalization which is defended by USA. The process of this term will be examined, too. Second, third and fourth sections will discuss how Iran Islamic Republic maintained its relationship with global market under different circumstances and with different governments. In the final part of this thesis the commercial relationship Iran Islamic Republic maintained with world market during different governments' period and under USA embargos is analyzed in a comparative historical manner.
