Abstract (EN)
Batteries are considered one of the most important and efficient ways to store electrical energy. Lead batteries have been used to store energy in both automotive and industrial applications, but emerging technologies such as Li-ion and sodium-sulfur batteries used for energy storage have begun to take their place. The technical characteristics of Li-ion and other battery types are compared with lead batteries. The recent application of lithium-ion batteries to automobiles has resulted in significant changes in the design and commercialization of electric vehicles. The recent resurgence in commercial electric vehicles (EVs) has been made possible by significant advances in the electric range made possible by the high energy density of lithium-ion batteries. Future activity in EV battery development is focused on further improvement of lithium-ion gravimetric and volumetric energy densities. In this study, the design parameters of the Li-ion battery package were found out by investigating of the basic properties of the Li-ion cells. In the last part, the battery facilities in Turkey were investigated related to informationabout the lead acid and Li-ion battery production Keywords: Li-ion, EV, PHEV, BEV
