Abstract (EN)

With the rise of globalization and economic integration, the logistics sector has become strategically important for countries' economic development and competitiveness. Besides, the environmental impacts of logistics activities, particularly on carbon emissions and air quality, have highlighted the necessity of environmentally friendly policies. The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between institutional environment, logistics, and green logistics performance. The sample of the study comprises 38 countries that are members of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the analysis covers the years between 2007 and 2023. The results of the study reveal that the institutional environment quality enhances logistics performance. Furthermore, the results indicate that logistics performance increases carbon emissions from the transportation sector and thus has a negative impact on green logistics performance. According to the results, the institutional environment has no significant impact on the relationship between logistics performance and green logistics performance. This study provides a novel contribution to the literature, comprehensively evaluating the institutional environment quality using multiple indicators and examining the relationship between logistics performance and green logistics performance within the context of the institutional environment.
