Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of Corporate Governance on Firm Value and Financial Performance of companies. As a consequence of corporate scandals, financial crises and mismanagement of large companies in the 1990s, corporate governance started to gain great attention all over the world. After the financial crisis that took place in Turkey in the 2000s, the concept of corporate governance has started to gain more importance in the country. In the study, the subject of corporate governance has been examined regarding the processes in Turkey and also globally. Furthermore, it has been evaluated both in terms of theory and practice. In the research, we examined the compliance with corporate governance principles of 176 companies in the Borsa Istanbul 100 index and how it affects company performance and firm value by using panel data analysis.In this context, the firm value and the effect on financial performance of the companies which are in the corporate governance index have been determined.
