Abstract (EN)

Rose hip has been used in treatment of diabetes mellitus, cold, hemorrhoid and bronchitis as folk medicine. In this study, macroscobic, microscobic, total ash, loss on drying and foreign matter analysis of Rose hip samples that are sold by herbalists were done. Ascorbic acid contents of the extracts were determined by using Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography-Time of Flightmass Spectrometer (UPLC-TOF-MS). The correlation was investigated between antioxidant activities (DPPH, ABTS) and total phenolic contents in rose hip samples. Antioxidant activities of the samples were found to be high. Results were indicated that rosehip samples being sold in herbalists do not meet the requirements of European Pharmacopoeia.Key words: Rosehip, European Pharmacopoeia, Quality control
