Abstract (EN)

The kinematic and dynamic properties of the earthquake source, the physical and geometric properties of the environments through which the earthquake waves pass, the physical and structural properties of the shallow place structure at the observation point and the regional nature characteristics of the environment play an important role in the damage caused by earthquakes to the structures. The high earthquake stress resistance of a structure is ensured by determining the characteristics of the ground on which it will be built as well as the engineering calculations of the structure. In this thesis study, it is aimed to determine the dynamic elastic properties of the underground by applying Microtremor and Multichannel Surface Waves (MASW) Methods within Kütahya Dumlupınar University Evliya Çelebi Campus. In this context, MASW measurements were taken at 4 different points within the study area and Microtremor measurements were recorded at 35 distinguished points. The locations of the measurement points have been determined to form several lines and to cover the entire campus in order to reveal the local ground characteristics of the working area in detail. Microtremor and MASW results were evaluated together following the lines while the ground condition of the working area was defined, Ground Dominant Frequency, Ground Dominant Vibration Period and Magnification values were obtained from the H/V curves of the microtremor records in order to create distribution maps of these parameters. As a result of the evaluations made along the lines, the study area was defined as medium intact rock from the northwest to almost the middle part, a relatively weaker zone in the shallow (in the first few meters) on the middle solid rock on the southeast and a transitional zone between the middle part and the southeast. Ground Dominant Frequency, Ground Dominant Vibration Period and Magnification maps obtained from H/V curves also support this result.
