Abstract (EN)

This study examined the tectonic evolution of Kutahya Fault with kinematics analysis of Kutahya Fault, determining structural component (lineaments) in region by remote sensing method, the fault behavior and evaluate the work of seismicity, studies. Kutahya Fault, which is one of the major Neotectonic structure in Western Anatolia, is an active fault constraining the southern of E-W trending Kutahya Basin. This fault giving the shape of half-graben to basin forms boundary between basement rocks and cover rocks.Kinematics analysis of fault?s communities of observed in Kutahya Fault and around as a result of found regional stres states in the study area. The studies show that in Kutahya and its vicinity strike-slip fault and folds formed with NE-SW trending compressive regime be gone Late Pliocene, were worked together in a harmony with normal faults which were formed in the same time with an effect of NW-SE trending extensional regime. The Kutahya Fault was primarly formed as a left lateral strike-slip fault with an effect of NE-SW trending compression regime in Late Pliocene, therefore present day the fault treats as a normal fault with an effect of NNE-SSW trending extensional regime. The WNW-ESE trending fault has been revealed currently treats as a normal fault from 1/100.000 scaled active fault map and kinematic analysis which were conducted during the field studies.After N60-80W trending transfered the rose diagrams which were determined from Radar images, showed harmony with both Kutahya Fault trending and the current tectonic regime which formed the fault zone.Key Words: Kutahya Fault, Kinematic Analysis, Neotectonic, Extensional Tectonic Regime, Remote Sensing, Radar.
