Abstract (EN)
Qutbaddīnzāda Mehmet al-Iznikī, one of the great scholars and authors of the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century, was born in İznik, Bursa. Although his birth date is unknown, he died in 885/1480. Among his teachers was Mulla Fanārī (d. 834/1431), the sheikh ul-Islam of the period. Under his guidance, Qutbaddīnzāda studied both rational (positive sciences or philosophy) and religious sciences (theology) and became one of the most significant sufis of his time. He authored and annotated numerous books in various fields such as sufism, jurisprudence, and creed. Qutbaddīnzāda was associated with the Zayniyyah order in sufism. The founder of the Zayniyyah order, Zaynuddîn al-Khāfi (d. 838/1435), wrote a book on the order's litany. This book, known as Avrâd-ı Zayniyyah, has had many commentaries. In this thesis, Kutbüddinzâde's work (book) Tanwīr al-Avrād - Zayniyyah, which has survived to the present day (among others) but has not been previously studied, is examined. This work is significant as it contains the litanies recited by the Zayniyyah order for centuries. Through this study, the work has been brought to light and added to the sufi literature. In his book, the author not only comments on the litanies but also interprets some sufi concepts and topics. It is observed that he explains concepts such as repentance, remembrance (dhikr), and prayer. The first part of the study discusses (includes) the author's life and provides information about his work (book). The second part includes the critical edition of the work (book). There are many copies of the work, with 17 copies surviving to this day. In our research (study/thesis), the author's copy has been taken as the basis, and it has been compared with two other manuscript copies, with the differences noted in the footnotes.
