Abstract (EN)

In this study, size selectivity, incidental catch and discard rates of commercial gill nets for Bogue (Boops boops L., 1786) was determined from samples collected with gill nets of 22, 23 and 25 mm mesh size (nominal bar lenght). Samples was conducted at 6 station on the coasts of Gallipoli pennisula between February 2007 and May 2008.The estimated lenght range of fish caught for bogue was between 21.3 and 26.5. The optimum catch lenghts of bogue in 22, 23 and 25 mm mesh size were 22.37 ? 23.4 and 25.42 cm respectively. The Selectivity coefficient and the standart deviation were 5,08 and 0,88, respectively. The mean target catch, incidental catch and discard rates were determinated 82.82 %, 15.44 % and 1.75 %, respectively.
