Abstract (EN)
The aim of our research is to examine the perceptions of licensed secondary school students who do sports regarding the effect of sports on their life skills. It was examined based on the scanning model aimed at describing students' perceptions about the impact of sports on life skills according to student opinions. The population of this research consists of 894 secondary school students who do licensed sports in the Central District of Bolu province in the fall semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year. The sample of the research consists of a total of 419 students, 50.8% (213) of whom are female and 49.2% (206) of whom are male students who do sports voluntarily and participate in the research voluntarily in the central district of Bolu province. In collecting data in the research, students; A "Personal Information Form" was used, which aims to determine gender, education level, sports branch, training time per week, and license period they have. "The Impact of Sports on Life Skills Scale" (SYBEÖ), developed by Cronin and Allen (2017) and adapted to Turkish culture by Düz and Açak (2018), was used as the measurement tool of the research. The scale consists of 7 sub-dimensions and 31 items: time management skills, communication skills, leadership skills, team work, social skills, emotional skills and goal setting skills. The Cronbach-Alpha coefficient for the entire Impact of Sports on Life Skills Scale is 0.85. As a result of the research, the effects of sports on life skills of secondary school students who do licensed sports in terms of gender, education level (grade), sports branch and weekly sports hours variables, time management, communication skills, leadership skills, teamwork, social skills and goal setting skills. p<0.05, where their perceptions differed significantly in the sub-dimensions, In the undergraduate year variable, it was determined that students' perceptions about the impact of sports on life skills differed significantly in all sub-dimensions, p <0.05.
