The use of antidepressant and identiftying factors that affect for high school students

Purpose: Even though there are limited data in regards to the use of anti-depressant prescriptions, there has not been enough research completed in explaining the reasons of using anti-depressants and the dosages. The purpose of this research is to define youth using anti-depressants without prescription. Material-Method: The field of research is 486 students from 2 high schools in the province of İstanbul. Because of wrong marking and missing items, 22 students were excluded the research. Every item determines a behavioural feature related to depression. In the analyses of the data percentage values, k square and t- test were used. Findings and Results: 464 of them have been taken into consideration. It was discovered that 7.1% of them, used depression medicines in any period of their high school times and 5.6% are currently using depression medicine.
